In October 2017, the Lord began dealing with the heart of Pastor Topsy Mathis. After much prayer and discussion God led Pastor Topsy to launch a Bible-based, evangelistic, Spirit-empowered church in Southwest Fort Worth, TX, that would impact the Fort Worth Metroplex and beyond. Pastor Topsy was able to seek Godly guidance from Rev. Dr. Allen S. Turner located in Livermore, CA and Pastor Ralph W. Emerson of the Rising Star Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX. December 19, 2017, Pastor Topsy held an interest meeting to share the vision God had given him. That evening 25 people expressed interest in supporting the vision after receiving directions and a brief bible study of the Word. For His Kingdom Church held its first service January 21, 2018 at 5701 Westcreek Dr in Fort Worth, Texas. Several friends and family came out to witness this historic event. Pastor Topsy was installed as pastor of For His Kingdom Church by Pastor Ralph W. Emerson of the Rising Star Baptist Church in Fort Worth and Rev. Dr. Allen S. Turner of the St. Matthew’s Baptist Church in Livermore, CA. In addition, For His Kingdom Church family received the charge to the church. For His Kingdom Church has aimed to live out the mission of “Transforming lives to live as kingdom citizens”. In our 4 years of existence, we have formed several ministries that exhibit being the hands and feet of Jesus. We have our Care Team, Faith & Fitness, FHK Clothing Closet, FHK Food Pantry, Music Ministry, Usher Ministry, Media Ministry, Youth Ministry, Men’s Ministry, and Women’s Ministry. We are striving with excellence to give back to our community and reach outside the 4 walls of the church building to walk as Jesus has called us. For His Kingdom is here to share the blueprint for biblical empowerment helping the people of God to walk in their calling and purpose for the Kingdom of God. FHK continuously walks out Matthew 6:33, which says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” By applying this verse to our lives, it helps us to access our rights as Kingdom citizens. FHK will continue to be led by God as we move forward for years to come.
